It will never make oil as new color due to engine heat and oxidation but it will remove the soot.

Put a drop of oil on a paper towel today then after 2500 miles take another drop and put it next to today’s drop. You will see less soot in the oil.

A lot also depends on how many miles are on the engine. An engine with 20,000 miles has far less soot buildup hiding in the engine that one with 200,000 miles.

Open the rotor at 10,000 miles and you will see how much soot it is removing.

All that soot is contamination the filter did not get and that is the stuff wearing out your engine.
