<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The &#8220;hot pan test&#8221; is a simple method used to detect the presence of water in oil. Here&#8217;s how to perform the test:</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Prepare a Clean, Dry Pan</strong>: Start by ensuring that the pan you&#8217;ll be using is clean and completely dry. Any water or residue in the pan could affect the accuracy of the test.</li>



<li><strong>Heat the Pan</strong>: Place the clean, dry pan on a stovetop or another heat source and heat it until it&#8217;s hot. You want the pan to be at a temperature where water droplets added to it will evaporate almost instantly.</li>



<li><strong>Add a Sample of Oil</strong>: Once the pan is hot, carefully add a small sample of the oil you want to test. Use a dropper or spoon to add the oil to the center of the pan.</li>



<li><strong>Observe the Reaction</strong>: If the oil sizzles or crackles immediately upon contact with the hot pan, it indicates the presence of water in the oil. The heat causes any water present in the oil to rapidly vaporize, producing the sizzling sound and possibly splattering.</li>



<li><strong>Repeat if Necessary</strong>: If you&#8217;re unsure about the results or want to confirm the presence of water, you can repeat the test with another sample of oil.</li>



<li><strong>Dispose of Oil Safely</strong>: Once you&#8217;ve completed the test, dispose of the oil properly. If the oil is contaminated with water, it may need to be treated or disposed of according to local regulations.</li>

<p><strong><b>Heating the Oil and the reason why:</b></strong><br />
Oil must be heated before it is processed to break the viscus bond between the solids and the oil and to evaporate or drop out the water.</p>
<p>Dieselcraft supplies a drum heater to perform this task.</p>
<p><strong><b>Cleaning Power:</b></strong> 2600 G’s</p>
<p>Includes the centrifuge, mounting plate for 55 gallon steel drums, thermometer, heater, suction wand with suction strainer, pump and motor.</p>
<p><strong><b>Single Pass:</b></strong><br />
It all depends on the percentage of solids in the oil. No one can claim Singe Pass with out knowing the percent of solids, the oil temperature and the flow rate through the centrifuge.<br />
50 gallons may take 2 hours to get to temperature and run two passes, total time 4 hours.</p>
<p>The supplied pump can be used to transfer the oil form tank to tank and not rely raising the tanks and using gravity to to move it.</p>
<p>Cleaning: If you use a paper liner in the rotor it cleans in 3 minutes and yes all systems are messy to clean.</p>
<p><strong><b>Repair Parts: </b></strong>Dieselcraft has units that are over 10 years old and still going strong. The ONLY wear part in the centrifuge is the rotor bushings. We have not replaced more that 10 sets in 10 years.</p>
